We interviewed a total of 9 potential users to understand their library experiences.

100% of users interviewed like the library’s “learning atmosphere”
0% of users knew the library offered workshops or had career resources other than in the form of a book

PERSONA
Rachel wants to learn new skills in order to advance her career by participating in workshops at the library. Rachel enjoys the atmosphere at the library and despite her busy lifestyle, she finds time to go once or twice a month for books and printing.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Career switchers need a way to connect, share information, see available career resources and provide assistance because they often feel unsure about what steps to take first.

CONCEPTS & Sketches
In our attempt to draw in library users to use its available career resources, we came up with the following features that were important to the success of our application:
A Community-based platform for our users

WIREFRAMES
Goals:
Onboarding: to provide all necessary information to first time users on how the application can best work for you but also have the option to skip.
Community: during onboarding, we wanted to explain how you can connect to the community and get the most out of your experience. Not only is the LISA application a learning platform with job resources that prepare you for the next job, we provide a social network of people to connect with.
Ease of use: layout of workshops, courses, events in a simple and concise way to allow users to see all necessary information immediately while having the option to see more details and any connected “Learnmate” on the application will also be an attendee.
