Hello,
my name is JQ and I am currently a UX/UI Designer at a startup, Empass Medical where we are revolutionizing healthcare. We are launching the company’s first products in the form of a provider portal for doctors & nurses, a mobile application for patients and partner portal for our prospective partners.
Prior to Inverse Medical, I was fine tuning my skills at Flatiron School's UX/UI Immersive Program. I want to build products to improve peoples’ lives in the most minimalistic way possible.
I have always been interested in how people adapt to their environment based on their cultures, language, customs, and behavior which is why I studied Cultural Anthropology at Stony Brook University (Go Seawolves!). Some of my favorite groups studied include the Maasai, Yanomamö and the Bushmen people. My favorite related book: "Nisa - The Life and Words of a !Kung Woman."
Prior to diving into UX/Product Design, I was a Team Leader of the Case Coordinators at a homecare agency for 6 years providing care for the elderly and disabled. I work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment where I work very closely with a small team and different departments within the organization.
When I am not wireframing and prototyping, I am looking for new hiking spots, new routes to run with my always-hyper Boston pup and cleaning pizza stains.
